Bladen County Health Department has a position for a Licensed Practical Nurse II. The primary purpose of this position will be to provide services for patients through Clinical Services and other duties as may be assigned.

Position: Auto Mechanic 1
Department: Motor Pool
Salary: Grade 60 A ($24,655)
Status: Regular, Full-Time

Description: Under direct supervision, inspects, troubleshoots, and performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and repair work on county vehicles, gasoline and diesel powered, work involves performing mechanical work on truck, cars, vans, buses, small engine powered equipment, mower decks, and related work as required; ordering parts; scheduling appointments for in-house work as well as out of shop work; inventory control; maintain a clean shop; performs record keeping of work tickets and related monthly inspection reports. Reports to operations director.

Education/Experience: High school diploma supplemented by five years of experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles and light equipment; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; and ability to understand oral and written instructions. Ability to work with pubic effectively. Must possess a valid NC Drivers License.

Position: Building Maintenance Mechanic II
Department: Central Services
Salary: Grade 61 A ($25,907)
Status: Regular, Full - Time

Description:
Performs general construction work and maintenance in county buildings as required, including but not limited to: plumbing, cabling, electrical, mechanical, hvac, finished carpentry, sheet rock hanging and finishing, painting, concrete finishing, plastering, masonary, etc. operates a backhoe, tractor, forklift, general hand and power tools, on call status.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma. Must have prior experience in skills listed in job description.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to lift a minimum of 80 pounds.
Proficient computer skills & ability to administer necessary paperwork involved.
Ability to work with public effectively.
Valid drivers license.

POSITION: Emergency Medical Technician

STATUS:

Full time EMT ($25,399 - $32,171
Part time EMT ($10.51 hourly rate)

Full time EMT –I ($26,626-33,727)
Part time EMT –I ($11.57 hourly rate)

Description:

Under the general direction of an EMS Supervisor, perform the duties of an Emergency Medical Technician by administering emergency, non-emergency, transport/convalescent, medical and ambulance services of the County. Complete Ambulance Call Reports, Narratives and other documentation as required.

Must be able to work rotating shifts to include day, night, weekends and holidays.

Education, Training & Experience:

Individuals with a Certification by the North Carolina Medical Examiners Boards as an Emergency Medical Technician & EMT-I.
CPR certification.
EMT-I (Must obtain ACLS, BTLS, & Pals certification.)
High school diploma or GED
Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Participate in appropriate continuing education program.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of occupational and county policies, regulations and guidelines. Ability to promote good public relations and work with citizens, doctors and hospital employees; ability to perform the physical activities required, to include, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pulling, stooping, walking and other physical exertions of 300 pounds of force with assistance
