Convenience Center Information

The County of Bladen would like to introduce and welcome you to our new Collection Site and Swap Facility, for disposal and recycling of household solid waste materials.

We are asking for you support, and cooperation in keeping the sites clean, and abuse free.

Bladen County Collection Site

Acceptable Materials

  • Household Garbage
  • Appliances
  • Pickup or car tires (4/week, must be off rim)
  • Motor oil (5 gallon/week in sturdy, closed containers)
  • Leaf and limbs (Pickup load or equivalent/maximum 3" in diameter and 3' in length)
  • Brown goods (Couches, mattresses, etc.)
  • Batteries (2/week)
  • Bikes/lawnmowers
  • Aluminum, cans (Recyclable)

Unacceptable Materials

  • LCID (Land clearing inert debris/stumps and trees)
  • Hazardous waste
  • Unknown products
  • Poisons, herbicides or pesticides
  • Dead animals
  • Truck/tractor tires
  • C&D (Construction and demolition debris)
  • Commercial waste
  • Burn barrels, and ashes

Unacceptable materials must be delivered to the Bladen County Solid Waste Facility located at 1522 Mercer Mill Rd. Elizabethtown, N.C.

Swap Shop Recycling Center

Requirements

  1. All items received must be in good reuseable condition
  2. Clothing must be clean and on hangers.

Rights of ownership are relinquished once items are received at the Swap Shop.

No monies will be handled or kept on the premises.
