NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given to all interested persons that the Bladen County Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bladen County Courthouse located at 106 East Broad Street, Elizabethtown, N. C. The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comments on the proposed Phase III-B water system improvements of the Bladen County Water District, which include the following roads:

NC Hwy 242 from Jones Lake Road north to the Johnsontown Road Intersection;
Johnsontown Road from NC 242 to the Bladen Lakes School Intersection;
Johnsontown Road from Bladen Lakes School Road to Jack Richardson Road;
Jack Richardson Road from Old Fayetteville Rd to Johnsontown Road;
Old Fayetteville Road from NC242 to the Jack Richardson Road intersection;
Old Fayetteville Road from the Jack Richardson Rd intersection to the Bull Street Intersection;
NC Hwy 242 from Gum Springs Rd intersection to Old Fayetteville Rd intersection;
NC 242 from Old Fayetteville Rd north towards Cumberland County;
Old Fayetteville Road from NC242 towards Cumberland County;
Bull Street from Old Fayetteville Road to US 701;
US 701 from the Carolina Blueberry Farm to NC Hwy 210;
Smith Millpond Road from US701 for a short distance;
NC210 from US701 southeast to the Murphy Town Road intersection;
Murphy Town Road from NC210;
Johnsontown Road / Autrytown Road Loop off of US701.

The purpose of this hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to become acquainted with the proposed project and to comment on the economic and environmental impacts, the service area, and other alternatives to the project or any other issue regarding the proposed improvements.
